Narrowing your Skype window will cause the chat to move below the video. If you have your Skype friends list on the left (not shown in these screenshots) you can add about 200 pixels to those numbers, depending upon how big you keep your friends list. More than 720 pixels of window-width will make the Skype chat appear on the right. If it's 720 pixels or less it appears at the bottom. The location of the chat is determined by the width of the Skype video window. When enabled, Skype's chat often appears to the right of the video. Scroll down the small menu that opens and you will see the Sign out option. To sign out of the Skype UWP app, click your profile picture at the top left. I suppose this might look good on a small laptop screen but I prefer it below the chat because I like the video oriented near my camera, which is at the top of my Mac's screen (on your landscape-oriented iPhone or iPad the camera would be centered, making this design choice possibly work better there). If you want to stop Skype signing in automatically in the UWP version you only have one option sign out. You'll likely see that the chat now appears to the right of your video.

This feature is available only to Microsoft 365 Subscribers for Windows desktop clients. The profile card is also sometimes referred to as contact card or people card. Re-enabling chat inside a Skype call is simple: just click the chat bubble button in the upper right of the call window. The new Skype makes chat invisible during calls When moving an Islands user from Skype on-prem to Skype online. Maybe the folks at Skype are trying to give our eyes a break from all that blue, but c hances are in both scenarios I'll have some links to share or text to type, and for that I need the now-hidden chat. I could possibly see where a video caller might want the full window to be consumed by video, but I certainly don't need a huge avatar on my screen during an audio call. One issue is that chat is now hidden as soon as you start any call, be it audio or video.

Problem is, I'm not sure which device they're picking as the basis, and this week's update of the Mac version to 6.19.0.442 certainly shows some curious choices that have been made. If your users are not seeing any presence in Outlook you should check if your users are enabled for TeamsOnly. In this case, you have to hover over the contact picture to see the presence. Close and restart Outlook, and Skype for Business or Lync. If the volume is fine, double-check the menu next to Speakers and see if there's another option to pick from, and then try the sample sound again.Skype is clearly moving down a "One Microsoft" path of making it look the same on all devices. For me, it looks like that MS changed the behaviour to not show the presence next to the picture in the latest Outlook releases. Enable the Show user photographs when available check box.If you don't hear anything when you play the sample sound, make sure your speakers or headphones are turned all the way up (some headphones have physical volume buttons) and that the on-screen settings are at 10.You should hear sound in your headset or speakers. To check the sound in Skype to make sure that it's using the right speakers, select Test audio under the Speakers option. Finally, unplug the microphone and then reattach it. If there aren't other ones to pick from, make sure the microphone is plugged in, powered on (if it has a power switch), and has batteries (if wireless). Its 'all or nothing' when it comes to displaying contact photos. If you disable photos, this affects the display of contact photos in the header of email messages, in the people pane, and the contact card. Administrators can use Group policy to disable contact photos. If the microphone doesn't work with Skype, select the menu next to Microphone and see if there are any other options you might have the wrong device selected. In Outlook 2007, you need to edit the registry. As you talk, you should see the bar light up. With that setting open, notice the volume area under Microphone.
